Successful Applications of Customer Analytics
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
On May 1, 2014, the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative (WCAI) will host its first-ever conference devoted to Successful Applications of Customer Analytics. Presentations must provide detailed descriptions of projects that have used customer-level behavioral data to inform business decisions.
Example topics include:
- Targeted advertising
- Social media campaigns
- Product assortment & merchandising
- Product recommendations
- Call center management
- Media planning
- Store location
- Reward programs
- Customer churn management
WCAI also encourages proposals on impactful applications not listed here. Our definition of customer analytics is broad, spanning B2B and B2C domains, and all industries including CPG,
telecommunications, media, energy, advertising, retail, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. Thus it can involve users, patients, distributors, clients, media viewers, or any other kind of customer whose behavior is critical to the organization. Presentations that include methodological innovations in data collection, management, or analysis that enable customer analytics are especially encouraged, but the business results are at least as important as any technical contributions.
Presentations will be 30-45 minutes long to allow presenters to give a complete overview of the context, data, analytics methods, findings, and impact of the project on the organization. As a research center positioned at the intersection between academics and industry, WCAI is looking for presentations that illustrate a high level of rigor but are also broadly accessible to practitioners. These case studies will be interwoven with several panel discussions on topics important to customer analytics professionals (e.g., data governance) and a small number of presentations of recent academic research that are highly-relevant to practitioners.
Submission
Those interested in presenting should submit a brief overview of the project they intend to present, including a description of any innovations in data collection or analytics methods and a summary of the project’s impact on the business. Please include a bio of the speaker(s) and a list of recent presentations. We anticipate this will be a highly selective process with no more than five case studies to be included in the one-day event. Those interested are encouraged to visit .
Proposals are due by January 15, 2014. Additional questions on the data or the process can be directed to wcai-research@wharton.upenn.edu.
Conference announcement and registration details forthcoming.
