V. Kumar Named Journal of Marketing Editor-Designate
The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø and the editor selection committee comprised of Robert Lusch (chair), Rajesh Chandy, Jeff Inman, Sandy Jap, Carl Mela, Page Moreau, John Sherry, Rajan Varadarajan, and Christopher Bartone, are pleased to announce that V. Kumar has been named editor-designate of the Journal of Marketing. Kumar, whose three-year term begins July 1, 2014, replaces Gary L. Frazier, who has served as editor since July 2011. Kumar is the Regents Professor; Chang Jiang Scholar; Richard and Susan Lenny Distinguished Chair & Professor in Marketing; Executive Director, Center for Excellence in Brand and Customer Management; Director, Ph.D. program in Marketing at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. He has been recognized with seven lifetime achievement awards in Marketing Strategy, Inter-Organizational Issues, Retailing, Business to Business Marketing, and Marketing Research from the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø and other professional organizations.

Kumar has published over 200 articles in many scholarly journals in marketing including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Marketing Science, Management Science and Operations Research. His books include Profitable Customer Engagement, Managing Customers for Profit, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Customer Lifetime Value, Marketing Research, Statistical Methods in CRM, and International Marketing Research.
Kumar is a member of the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø and has served on the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Academic Council. He has also worked on the Finance Committee with the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s Board of Directors.
