The 2013 “Marketing and Society Emerging Scholar Award” goes to:

Beth Vallen!

— Beth is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Fordham Schools of Business. Her research focuses on issues related to consumer goals and self-control in the domain of consumer health, and her work has appeared in a variety of journals, including three articles in the Journal of Consumer Research, and her studies have been covered by popular press outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Psychology Today. Dr. Vallen also serves as an editorial board member for the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. Beth holds her BS in Marketing from Lehigh University, and MBA and PhD degrees from Baruch College, City University of New York. This award is a well-deserved recognition of the quality and impact of Beth’s research to date, and an expression of support for her continuing contributions to our field of knowledge. Congratulations to Beth! Onward for a better future for society!
