The Marketing Strategy SIG is delighted to announce that Prof. Debanjan (Deb) Mitra (City Furniture Professor, Associate Professor of Marketing at the Warrington College of Business Administration, University of Florida) is the winner of the 2013 Varadarajan Award for Early Career Contributions to Marketing Strategy Research. A three member panel of past winners of the award found Prof. Mitra’s accomplishments to be highly noteworthy and deserving of this year’s award. A 2003 PhD from the New York University, Deb’s research encompasses the development of quality metrics and an evaluation of its long-term impact on market performance and customers’ perceptions. His research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Retailing, and the International Journal of Research in Marketing. Previously, Deb’s work has been recognized by the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award in 2011, Marketing Science Institute (MSI) Young Scholar in 2009, MSI’s Robert D. Buzzell Best Paper Award in 2007, and as Finalists for INFORMS’ John D.C. Little Best Paper Award and Frank M. Bass Best Dissertation-Based Paper Award in 2006.
