The 2013 Louis W. Stern Award Winner
The 2013 Stern Award Committee, consisting of Kenneth H. Wathne (chair) (University of Stavanger and BI Norwegian Business School), Robert Dahlstrom (Miami University and BI Norwegian Business School) and Jean L. Johnson (Washington State University, Pullman), is pleased to announce that Mrinal Ghosh (University of Arizona) and George John (University of Minnesota) are the winners of the 2013 Louis W. Stern Award. Their winning article "Strategic Fit in Industrial Alliances: An Empirical Test of Governance Value Analysis" was published in the Journal of Marketing Research in August 2005.
The Interorganizational SIG’s Louis W. Stern Award was established by Louis W. and Rhona L. Stern in 1999 through the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Foundation. The award recognizes an outstanding article published in a widely recognized and highly respected refereed journal that has made a significant contribution to the literature on marketing and channels of distribution.
The committee unanimously agreed that the winning article, which tests Ghosh and John’s (1999) strategizing calculus, is an outstanding example of original and well executed research that has made a significant contribution to the field of interorganizational relationship research. As a testament to its contribution the article has been highly cited and it received the most votes from the interorganizational research community. The IOSIG thanks all who took the time to nominate and vote for articles for the 2013 Louis W. Stern Award and especially appreciates all the work the award committee put into selecting the winning article. The Stern Award will be conferred at the Summer Educator’s conference in August during the Awards Luncheon. Please join us in offering Mrinal and George sincere congratulations for their outstanding contribution to our field!
