Open Innovation: The Journey from Ideation to Innovation

The IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin is sponsoring a conference, Open Innovation: The Journey from Ideation to Innovation, at the Hilton Austin from November 8-9th, 2012. The conference will bring together practitioners and academic researchers so that emerging and present models of open innovation can be explored.

The primary objective of the conference is to explore the many methods which may be utilized to bring an idea through the early stage of the innovation process. Topic areas which will be presented on include: the various forms of innovation actors in the ecosystem including the roles of industry, government labs, private industry and university and their impact on the transition of an idea into an appealing market innovation. It is expected that this conference will be an open forum to expose and develop novel models of innovation development in an academic setting. Further, it is anticipated these conference proceedings will result in the development of a new volume dedicated to the concept of Open Innovation and the transition of Idea to Market through innovative processes.
