Nominations Sought for the New ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø MASSIG “Early Career Award”
Dear Colleagues,
You are invited to help identify potential candidates for the inaugural ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Marketing and Society Special Interest Group’s (MASSIG) “Early Career Award” for contributions to research advancing the study of Marketing and Society issues. This award will be given annually to honor the contributions of a researcher who received his/her Ph.D. between five and eight years ago. Thus MASSIG members who received their Ph.D. between 2004 and 2007 are eligible this year. This year’s winner will be announced at the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Summer Educator’s Conference to be held in Chicago, IL in August 2012.
Eligibility:
Recipients of this award must be MASSIG members in good standing at the time of receipt, and should have obtained their doctoral degree between 2004 and 2007.
Selection Process:
Each year, a panel of three MASSIG members will be appointed by the MASSIG Chair to serve as a selection committee. The panel will solicit nominations from the MASSIG membership, and select the recipient of the award for their scholarly contributions to the marketing and society research area. Criteria to be used for determining contribution include problem significance, innovation, methodological rigor, and potential to substantially advance our understanding of this area.
Nominations:
To submit a nomination for the MASSIG Early Career Award for Contributions to Consumer Research, nominators should provide:
- A letter of nomination (maximum two pages; self-nominations are acceptable).
- A current C.V. for the nominated scholar.
- Up to three reprints of scholarly papers representative of the nominee’s contributions.
All materials need to be submitted electronically.
Please note that anyone nominated this year will be automatically considered for the next two years as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
This year’s selection committee is chaired by Professor Ronald P. Hill. MASSIG members are encouraged to nominate potential candidates for the award by sending nominations to Professor Hill ronald.hill@villanova.edu before June 30, 2012. Not much time, so please act quickly!
