Goldenberg and Muller at IJRM

Introduction

The European Marketing Academy has appointed Jacob Goldenberg and Eitan Muller as the new editors of the International Journal of Research in Marketing

Announcement
New Editors of the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM) Appointed

Sönke Albers
Vice-President Publications

Last fall, the EMAC Executive Council established a committee to appoint a new editor for the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM) after the present editor, Marnik Dekimpe, had indicated that he did not wish to be considered for reappointment. The Search Committee consisted of three members: Sönke Albers (chairman, ex-officio as Vice President Publications), Jan-Benedict Steenkamp and Hubert Gatignon as past editors.

After a careful process, in which the Search Committee solicited input from the EMAC community and the IJRM Editorial Review Board, the Search Committee is pleased to announce that it has appointed as the new co-editors:

Jacob Goldenberg (Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Visiting Professor at Columbia University, New York, and the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Israel), and

Eitan Muller (Tel Aviv University and New York University).

The appointment decision was unanimous. The new editors have a very good publication record and served already as area editors of IJRM. They cover a broad field of marketing and are open to innovative ideas. They will publish their editorial policy later this year.

Jacob’s and Eitan’s term as co-editors will start from 1 October 2012. They will work closely with Marnik to arrange a smooth transition. All new submissions from October 1 will be handled by Jacob and Eitan, while revised manuscripts submitted before 1 January 2013 will still be handled by Marnik.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Marnik for the superb job he has done in leading IJRM during the last three years. Marnik has dedicated most of his time to our community and was successful in enhancing the quality, rigor, and reputation of IJRM. It is because of individuals like Marnik who are dedicated to our profession that the international community of marketing scientists grows ever more strongly. The Search Committee is confident that the new editors will continue this growth trajectory of IJRM.
