Marketing Science Emerging Markets (MSEM) Conference

September 28-29, 2012

At the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania

Marketing Science is preparing a special section on emerging markets to be co-edited by Professors Kannan Srinivasan (CMU) and K. Sudhir (Yale). To this end, Marketing Science is organizing the “Marketing Science Emerging Markets (MSEM) Conference” at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania on September 28-29, 2012.

With emerging markets being the growth engines of the world economy for the foreseeable future and continuing to gain share of the world economy, a deep understanding of these markets and expertise in this area is critical for marketing academia. The conference and the associated special section are intended to serve as a catalyst for stimulating high quality academic research on emerging markets. To that end, the conference seeks innovative and rigorous papers that either enhances our substantive understanding of these markets and/or develops unique models and methods appropriate for these markets.
