Editor-in-Chief for Marketing Education Review

The term of the current editor of Marketing Education Review, will end soon. The Executive Committee of the Society for Marketing Advances is calling for nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief.

The Position

The position is for a term (renewable once) of three years, starting on November 1, 2012. The duties of MER’s Editor-in-Chief are summarized in this document.

Qualifications

Candidates should be well-established researchers in areas related to Marketing Education content, applications, use, and related enabling technologies, and should have sufficient experience serving on conference program committees and journal editorial boards.

Nomination Process

Nominations should be sent by email to W. Rhea Ingram at wingram4@aum.edu.

To nominate a colleague, send a summary of candidate’s relevant research contributions and editorial qualifications. The committee accepts self-nominations, which should include a current curriculum vita and a brief (one page) statement of the candidate’s vision for MER.

Deadline

The committee will start evaluating candidates after April 15, 2012. Nominations arriving after this date are not guaranteed to be considered.

Duties

The duties of the Editor-in-Chief are to:

  1. Lead and mentor the Editorial Board of MER, and in so doing, to carry out the fiscal and editorial policies established by the Society. This includes assigning and reviewing papers as needed, encouraging submissions, and providing input regarding new editorial features and material.
  2. Work with our publisher, M.E. Sharpe, on production matters of the MER.
  3. Meet with and report at the annual meeting to the Executive Committee.
  4. Recruit Editorial Board Member and Associate Editor.
  5. Work closely with the Executive Committee on strategic decisions affecting the MER.
