Leighann C. Neilson, an Associate Professor of Marketing at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, was awarded the Stanley C. Hollander Best Paper Award at the recent 15th Biennial Conference on Historical Analysis and Research in Marketing (CHARM). The Stanley C. Hollander Best Paper Award honors the best complete manuscript submitted to and presented at CHARM. Dr. Neilson was awarded the Hollander Award for her paper entitled "John Murray Gibbon (1875-1952): The Branding of a Northern Nation."
CHARM provides a venue for academics from around the world to present their research in all areas of marketing history and the history of marketing thought and theory. CHARM was held from May 19-22, 2011, at the New York Helmsley Hotel in New York City and sponsored by Quinnipiac University. CHARM is affiliated with the Journal of Historical Research in Marketing published by Emerald Publishing. The next CHARM will be held in 2013 at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
