The Society for Consumer Psychology is pleased to announce the election of Professor Michel Tuan Pham of Columbia University as President-Elect of the Society as of February 24, 2011. In this capacity, he will serve a three-year term in the executive leadership of the Society: one year as President-Elect, one year as standing President, and one year as Immediate Past President. Michel Tuan Pham is the Kravis Professor of Business in Marketing at the Graduate School of Business of Columbia University. He received his PhD in Marketing from the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Founded as Division 23 of the American Psychological Association in 1961 and incorporated in 1988, the Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP) is the leading professional organization for the advancement of the science of consumer psychology. With over 700 active members, the Society publishes the prestigious Journal of Consumer Psychology and the Advertising and Consumer Psychology book series. Its main annual meeting, the SCP conference, is typically held in February, and recently reached a record attendance of nearly 500 participants in February 2011. This annual meeting is preceded by the SCP Doctoral Symposium whose mission is to help doctoral students enter the field of scientific consumer psychology.
