Call for 2011 Nominations – Recognizing Excellence
The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sales and Sales Management SIG will confer the following awards at the 2011 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Summer Educators’ Conference: The Doctoral Dissertation Award, The Excellence in Research Award, and The Lifetime Achievement Award. All applications shall be submitted electronically in PDF format using single-space, Times New Roman, 12-point font. All nominations must be received by March 31, 2011 and incomplete submission packets will not be considered.
The Doctoral Dissertation Award is sponsored by the Sales Excellence Institute at the University of Houston. Competition is open to anyone having completed a doctoral degree within the past 2 years from an AACSB accredited university. The primary focus of the dissertation must involve professional selling and/or sales management. To enter the competition, please submit a copy of the dissertation along with a cover letter specifying that the materials are being submitted for consideration for the 2011 Sales SIG Doctoral Dissertation Award (one paragraph), an overview of the study and results (one paragraph similar to a journal article abstract would be sufficient), and lastly the applicant’s full contact information. These documents will be reviewed by an independent panel of sales researchers, which will choose the top and runner-up dissertations. The author of the top dissertation will receive a plaque and a $1500 award and the author of the runner-up dissertation will receive a plaque and a $500 award and both will be recognized during the Sales and Sales Management SIG reception at the Summer Educators’ Conference.
The Excellence in Research Award is intended to recognize the author(s) of a professional selling and/or sales management article, published during 2010 that has made a significant contribution to the sales discipline. Please nominate an article by submitting a complete citation and letter supporting the article for this award. The author(s) of the chosen paper will receive a plaque and will be recognized during the Sales and Sales Management SIG reception at the Summer Educators’ Conference.
The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has made meaningful contributions to the academic sales discipline over a long period of time. Previous winners of this prestigious award are: Marv Jolson, Bill Stanton, Gil Churchill, Neil Ford, Orv Walker, Dave Cravens, Bart Weitz, Tom Wotruba, Charles Futrell, Tom Leigh, Rosann Spiro, William D. Perreault, Jr., and Tom Ingram. Please submit a letter of nomination (2 page limit) and the nominee’s complete vita and any other supporting materials. The winner will be recognized during the Sales and Sales Management SIG reception at the Summer Educators’ Conference and will receive a special plaque.
