THE 2011 GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
PLATTSBURGH, NEW YORK, USA

The Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) Conference has earned a reputation as a prominent place with SCM practitioners whose main interests are the issues of supply chain management and transportation logistics, especially across border. The 2011 Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) Conference will be held from May 24 – 26, 2011 in Plattsburgh, New York, USA. The main theme of the conference is “Cross Border Distribution of Goods & Services”.
Recently, the conference has developed Academic Sessions targeting academic researchers to provide great opportunities to meet colleagues and share research ideas and findings for discussion and peer feedback. The main theme of the academic sessions in the 2011 GSCM Conference is “Excellence in Supply Chain/Logistics Management – Practical & Teaching Applications”. We would like to invite academicians to contribute papers on any of the topics related to the following tracks:
Track 1: Practical Applications
We encourage you to submit papers reflecting your research in supply chain/logistics management with a focus on practical applications. Papers addressing any relevant topic within the broad theme of the conference, but not limited to the following are welcome:
- Risk management in supply chains
- Supply chain efficiency
- Use of lean and six sigma in supply chains
- Logistics/Reverse logistics
- Customer relationship management in supply chains
- Supplier relationships and negotiations
- Information technology in supply chains
- Supply chain strategy and integration
- Canadian and U.S. supply chain and border issues
Track 2: Teaching & Learning Applications
We welcome papers which provide a clear link to important and interesting teaching and learning applications in supply chain/logistics management.
- Pedagogical approaches to teaching supply chain/logistics management courses
- Supply chain/logistics management curriculum issues
- Integrating technology in supply chain/logistics management courses
Submission Guidelines and Review Process
- Submit an abstract as well as the complete paper on MS Word with single line spacing to the Proceeding Committee Chair electronically (choek@plattsburgh.edu) along with the name and address of the author and contact information.
- The papers will undergo a process of peer review by the Conference Proceeding Committee to check their suitability for publication and presentation. Paper selection will be based on quality of abstract, originality, topicality, relevance and advancement of current thinking on the subject.
- All of the accepted papers will be included in the 2011 Global Supply Chain Management Conference Proceedings. Conference best papers winners in Track 1 will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Marketing Channels.
