in conjunction with the
26th Annual National Conference In Sales Management
Wednesday, March 30 – Saturday, April 2, 2011
Orlando, FL
To encourage and support doctoral student research in personal selling and sales management, the National Conference in Sales Management (NCSM) is pleased to announce that up to three $1000 Doctoral Research Grants are available for 2011.
9th Annual Doctoral Student Sales Research Program
There will be a special competitive session for doctoral student papers (empirical or conceptual) related to any selling and/or sales management issue. Submitted papers must be authored solely by doctoral students (single or multiple authors are acceptable) who are candidates for degrees in marketing or a closely related field at an AACSB accredited university. Author(s) of chosen papers will be designated as “2011 NCSM Doctoral Fellows” and will receive a $1000 research grant award per paper. All accepted doctoral student papers will be published in the Proceedings in Abstract form. In addition, the Conference registration fee for all doctoral students will be waived, regardless if they are presenting a paper or not.
General Rules for submissions to the NCSM Doctoral Student Sales Research Program:
- The complete paper should be submitted to the Doctoral Program Chair electronically (meshoemaker@widener.edu) on or before October 29, 2010. With all submissions, please clearly indicate the research is to be considered for the Doctoral Student Sales Research Program. Name(s) of author(s), their affiliation, and the title of the paper should appear only in the cover letter and on the manuscript’s title page. The title of the paper but not the name(s) of the author(s) should be at the top of page one followed by a single-spaced abstract not exceeding 100 words. The remainder of the paper should begin on page two, be double-spaced, and adhere to the reference style used in the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. Maximum length is 25 double-spaced pages, including tables, exhibits, and references.
- In order for a paper to be accepted, it or a similar version must not:
- have been previously published,
- have been accepted for publication elsewhere,
- be under consideration for publication elsewhere, or
- be submitted for publication elsewhere until such time as it is rejected from this conference competition.
- Each submission will undergo a double-blind review process and will be evaluated on the importance and potential contribution of the sales topic, quality of conceptual development, sampling, and methodology, and the managerial relevance of the results. Conceptual research will also be considered. After review, all papers will be ranked and the top three papers accepted. All authors will be notified by mail of the status of their submitted research once the final decision has been reached.
- All accepted doctoral student research papers will be published in the Proceedings in Abstract form. Authors of all accepted papers will be responsible for preparing the Abstract.
- Author(s) of the top three papers must attend the conference and present their research.
