Call For Nominations
The Society for Marketing Advances is seeking nominations for the third annual Emerald Publishing Emerging Scholar Award. This Award recognizes an Assistant Professor of Marketing who has made significant scholarly research contributions to the Marketing discipline early in her or his career.
The Emerald Publishing Emerging Scholar Award honoree, to be announced at the annual SMA Conference Awards Luncheon on Friday will receive a recognition plaque and cash award.
Submission Criteria and Procedure
- Eligible nominees are those Assistant Professors of Marketing who have completed a doctoral degree within the last four years. For the 2010 Award, this means that the degree must have been awarded in 2006 or later. Date of graduation should be clearly stated in the nomination declaration and on the vita.
- Nominations by colleagues or self-nominations are both acceptable. However, note that nomination letters will not be viewed by judges. Judges will only view vitae. One nomination declaration is sufficient to be considered a candidate for this award.
- Each candidate or his/her nominator must submit a brief declaration of nomination (an email is sufficient). The content of these declarations will NOT be considered in determining the Award honoree). This information will be seen only by the chairperson of the committee who is non-voting.
- Each candidate or his/her nominator should attach a Curriculum Vita in either Word or Adobe format to the declaration of nomination. The CV should plainly list all publications and verifiable final acceptances for forthcoming publications received through the nomination deadline. Work in progress or currently in the review process will not be considered. The CV should also clearly provide the date of doctoral degree graduation.
- Nomination deadline is August 20, 2010. Submit nominations to Ronald F. Bush at rbush@uwf.edu. Please write "SMA Emerging Scholar" in the subject line. No hard copy materials will be accepted. Attach CV.
- Candidates will be evaluated by a panel of judges on two criteria: (1.) Quantity of Scholarly Contributions and (2.) Quality of Scholarly Outlets.
