The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Retailing SIG would like to announce the recipient of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award in Retailing.

Professor Dhruv Grewal

Dhruv Grewal is the Toyota Chair in Commerce and e-business and Professor of Marketing at Babson College.

Professor Grewal has published over 90 journal articles, 50 of which are in the top six marketing journals.

Professor Grewal has received numerous awards for his academic achievements. He was awarded the 2005 Lifetime Achievement in Behavioral Pricing Award (Fordham University, November 2005). He is a “Distinguished Fellow” of the Academy of Marketing Science. He has been awarded the Best Paper in the consumer behavior Track at the Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø in 2009; the best paper in the Technology & e-Business Track at the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Summer 2007; the best paper in the Pricing Track at the Winter ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Conference in 2001; and the best paper in the Technology Track, Summer ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Educators’ Conference in 2000. Professor Grewal has twice won the Stanley C. Hollander Best Retailing Paper award , and the best papers at the Academy of Marketing Science Conferences in 2002 & 2008. Finally, he has twice won the M. Wayne DeLozier Best Conference Paper, Academy of Marketing Science in 2002 & 2008.

Professor Grewal has left an incredible mark on the global academic marketing community. Notably, he co-edited Journal of Retailing from 2001 to 2007. He currently serves on the editorial review boards of JAMS, JR, JM, JPP&M, JIM, JBR, and JRM. He also received a Best Reviewer Award (Journal of Retailing 2008) and a Distinguished Service Award (Journal of Retailing 2009).

Another indication of his global reputation has been his service to the discipline. He has served as VP Research and Conferences for the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Academic Council (1999-2001), and as VP-Development for the Academy of Marketing Science (2000-2002). Professor Grewal has also chaired multiple conferences that have had a global reach. These conferences include the AMS Conference, the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø winter and summer conference and the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sheth Doctoral Consortium, an MSI conference on Services, and a Thought Leadership Conference on Retailing that resulted in a special issue of Journal of Retailing. He has also been invited to participate in numerous doctoral consortiums.

Professor Grewal is also co-author of two widely used textbooks that are used around the world. He has also been recognized for teaching excellence by three major marketing associations: 2005 Sherwin-Williams Distinguished Teaching Award, Society for Marketing Advances; 2003 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø, Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education; and the 1999 Academy of Marketing Science Great Teachers in Marketing Award.
