Marketing Education Review Announces New Editorial Team

The Society for Marketing Advances is proud to introduce K. Douglas Hoffman (Colorado State University) as the new Editor, and Kevin J. Shanahan (Mississippi State University) as the new Associate Editor of Marketing Education Review.

Doug is an outstanding teacher and scholar whose experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels spans nearly 25 years both domestically and internationally. Currently, Hoffman is Professor of Marketing, Everitt Companies Teaching Scholar, and University Distinguished Teaching Scholar at Colorado State University. In addition to his textbooks and numerous teaching-related publications and presentations, Hoffman has founded Colorado State University’s Master Teacher Initiative (MTI) to enhance the quality of teaching and the visibility of the teaching mission across Colorado State University. The Master Teacher Initiative has been adopted by all nine colleges on campus and has been singled out by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as a benchmark program for other universities to follow.

Similarly, Kevin has built a strong reputation in teaching excellence. His innovative approach to teaching and infectious teaching style has been rewarded by being named the winner of the Houghton Mifflin Pride/Ferrell Innovation in Teaching Award, the CBS Television Eye on Education Golden Apple Award, while his Consumer Behavior class was featured in the Texas Monthly as “THE” class to take at The University of Texas at Tyler as voted by UT Tyler students. Shanahan recently served as the Guest Editor of the Spring 2010 Marketing Education Review’s Special Issue on Teaching Innovation.

Doug and Kevin are wonderful teachers, respected researchers, and terrific selections for the newest Editorial Team of MER. The society believes Doug and Kevin, along with the new publisher M.E. Sharpe, will take the journal to the next level. We look forward to the very first issue under the new team coming out Spring 2010.
