2nd Rostock Conference on Service Research
September 23th and 24th, 2010
Research into service and service management is of paramount importance both nationally and internationally. Nevertheless, a great deal of research remains unfin ished, as concepts and theories developed for the analysis of (manufacturing) industrial activities do not apply to the service sector, which is characterized by immaterial commodities. To address this need, the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Rostock has dedicated a great proportion of its research towards ‘Service Management and Service Markets’. In order to further the scientific exchange on these topics, the Department of Business Administration at the University of Rostock hosts a conference in Rostock, covering recent developments in service research.
We would like to invite all interested parties to participate in the second Rostock Conference on Service Research, presenting their research results. Formats will include oral (30 min. plus 15 min. discussion) and poster presentations. Contributions from all areas of business administration and all disciplines researching in the field of services are welcome. Studies may either address functional aspects of service management, such as work design, service encounter, designing innovative services or management control rsp. management reporting in service industries; or take an institutional perspective on services, focusing on specifics of particular services and service providers (financial services, tourism, tax advisors, auditors, logistics, …).
Please submit your contribution as an Full Paper or an Extended Abstract (500 words max.), either in English or German before
March 1th, 2010
to this email-address: einreichung@dl-tagung.de. The extended abstract should cover research questions and methods as well as essential results. You will be notified whether your submission is accepted or rejected before April 18th, 2010. In the case of acceptance we need a full paper until August 15th The paper will not be published but is necessary for the preparation of the referent discussant.
