Tourism and media researchers are invited to submit extended abstracts for consideration for the fourth biannual International Tourism and Media (ITAM) conference to be held at Monash University, Prato, Italy. Your hosts, Monash and La Trobe Universities, invite you to participate in developing the relationship between tourism and the media, including film-induced tourism.
The aim of the conference is to move tourism and media knowledge forward through presentation and discussion that will lead to further research and publications. Sessions will be of sufficient length to facilitate collegial communication, interaction and collaboration, with opportunities for group and individual discussion and debate.
In order to achieve this, papers and participant numbers will be limited, all the same the intent is to include a broad range of interests and backgrounds within the field of tourism and media research.
Given the aim to facilitate collegial environments, collaborative papers are especially encouraged.

- Conference registration payment for inclusion of extended abstract in proceedings by 31st May

Extended abstracts accepted by the scientific committee will be invited to present their work at the conference. Authors will be given twenty minutes to present their paper at the conference, and ten minutes for question time. All presentations will be to the whole conference, there will be no concurrent sessions.
Submission Details for Extended Abstracts
Extended abstracts will be double blind refereed. The submission of an abstract is an indication of a commitment to attend the conference if selected. All abstracts submitted will have a separate title page that includes the title of the paper, the author(s) names, affiliations, complete contact addresses, including phone numbers, fax and e-mail. The second page will start with the title, followed by the extended abstract. No identifying information should be included from the second page of the abstract. Please delete author details from the ‘Properties’ of the file.
All abstracts should be electronically forwarded in Microsoft Word format to me, Monash University, at glen.croy@buseco.monash.edu.au by 31 January, 2010.
Late papers will NOT be accepted.
Upon registration, accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website. After the conference, abstracts will also be posted on e-Review of Tourism Research. Additionally, attendees will be invited to submit full articles for a special journal edition.
The registration fee has not yet been finalised, however in order to encourage new and developing scholars as well as international visitors, costs will be kept to a minimum with a range of accommodation options provided.
