Dear colleagues,

We are currently seeking papers for the new International Journal of Event and Festival Management launching in 2010. The journal, co-edited by Leo Jago and Jack Carlsen, Victoria University and Curtin University, Australia, provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to discuss, analyse and shape the event and festival industry.

The journal seeks to advance knowledge in the field of events and to enhance the uptake of such knowledge by academics and practitioners in the field. Whilst publishing theoretical and practical articles, articles will include a section on how the findings can be adopted by practitioners in the field.

The journal covers events in its broadest sense, ranging from small festivals to mega events such as the Olympics, and includes business events (MICE) as well as special events. As the field of events is not a discipline in its own right, articles will be sourced from all disciplines and it is therefore adopting a multi-disciplinary approach. The coverage of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • Event Marketing; Planning and Design; Logistics
  • Event Evaluation
  • Strategic Management and Creative Leadership
  • Sponsorship and Fundraising
  • Volunteer and Human Resource Management
  • Event Professionalism
  • Event Innovations
  • Event Programming
  • Event Risk Management
  • Financial Management of Events
  • Clients and Concepts
  • Business Relations; Public Relations
  • Conferences
  • Festivals and conventions.

Each paper is reviewed by the editors and, if judged suitable for this publication, is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review. We could guarantee successfully reviewed papers publication in a forthcoming issue.

Submissions to the International Journal of Event and Festival Management should be sent by e-mail to the Editors: Professor Leo Jago: Leo.Jago@vu.edu.au and Professor Jack Carlsen: Jack.Carlsen@cbs.curtin.edu.au

More information and author guidelines can be found at:

Please forward this email to any of your peers and research students who may be interested in writing for the journal. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Valerie
