The NCSM Doctoral Student Sales Research Program
In Conjunction with the 25th Anniversary National Conference in Sales Management
To encourage and support doctoral student research in personal selling and sales management, the
National Conference in Sales Management (NCSM)
is pleased to announce
Three $1000 Doctoral Research Grants
Research papers related to all selling and/or sales management issues are invited. Submitted papers must be authored solely by doctoral students (single or multiple authors are acceptable) who are candidates for degrees in marketing or a closely related field at an AACSB accredited university.
The author(s) of up to three accepted papers will have their Conference registration fees waived, present their papers at a special NCSM session, be designated as “2009 NCSM Doctoral Fellows,” and receive a $1000 stipend.

General Rules for submissions to the NCSM Doctoral Student Sales Research Program:
- The completed paper and current vitas of all authors must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format to the NCSM Doctoral Student Sales Research Program Chair and received on or before October 26, 2009. With all submissions, please clearly indicate the research is to be considered for the Doctoral Student Sales Research Program.
- Name(s) of author(s), their affiliation, and the title of the paper should appear only in the cover letter and on the manuscript’s first (title) page. The title of the paper but not the name(s) of the author(s) should be at the top of page two followed by a single-spaced abstract not exceeding 100 words. The remainder of the paper should begin on page three, be double-spaced, and adhere to all the manuscript submission guidelines of the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. Maximum length is 25 double-spaced pages, including tables, exhibits, and references.
- In order for a paper to be accepted, it or a similar version must not:
- have been previously published,
- have been accepted for publication elsewhere,
- be under consideration for publication elsewhere, or
- be submitted for publication elsewhere until such time as it is rejected from this conference competition.
- Each submission will undergo a double-blind review process and will be evaluated on the importance and potential contribution of the sales topic, quality of conceptual development, sampling, and methodology, and the managerial relevance of the results. Conceptual research papers are highly welcome. After review, all papers will be ranked and the top three papers will be awarded fellowships. Other doctoral student papers may be accepted. Conference fees will be waived for all doctoral students. The contact author will be notified by e-mail and/or postal mail regarding the status of their submitted research once the final decision has been reached.
- Author(s) of accepted papers must attend the conference and present their research.
All accepted doctoral student research papers will be published in the Proceedings in Abstract form. Authors of all accepted papers will be responsible for preparing the Abstract.
