We are co-chairing the 2009 ACR conference this October 22-25 in Pittsburgh, PA at the Westin Hotel.

We are quickly learning that it “takes a village to run a conference” and ACR needs your help!

Accordingly, we are putting together a team of talented and dedicated scholars whose primary role is to review and provide timely, constructive feedback to authors and make recommendations to ensure that we have an excellent program.

Your responsibilities as a member of the reviewing team are threefold:

  1. Log on to the ACR conference management website () to update your information and indicate your areas of expertise (If you aren’t already signed up, just click on the “sign up” button in the upper right). You will need to select your top five content areas and top three method areas. Also, to ensure that reviewers and authors are not from the same institution, we have added a drop-down menu for you to indicate your institution.
  2. Review competitive papers or working papers. We expect that you will be responsible for reviewing two competitive papers OR a handful of working paper abstracts. We anticipate that the papers will be available for downloading from the website for review by the end of March, and you will have about 4 weeks to complete the task and upload your reviews.
  3. Solicit other good reviewers. In the spirit of viral marketing, please forward this to any of your colleagues and advanced PhD students whom you think might be interested in reviewing for ACR2009. Don’t assume that all potential reviewers are already in the system.

Please go to the website as soon as possible, but definitely prior to the submission deadline of March 23, 2009 (preferably a couple of weeks before then so we have an idea of where we’re at in terms of reviewer count).

BTW, you might want to make your hotel reservations soon, as the block tends to fill quickly. The Westin’s number is 412-281-3700 and the link is

See you in Pittsburgh!
