SERVSIG is currently soliciting special session proposals
Call for Special Session Proposals to be presented at the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s 2009 Summer Educator’s Conference sponsored by the Services Marketing Special Interest Group (SERVSIG).
SERVSIG is currently soliciting special session proposals for the summer educator’s conference. The theme of the conference is “The role of Marketing in Defining the Organization’s ‘Sustainability’ Goals.” Given this theme, SERVSIG is especially interested in proposals that explore questions such as how service marketers in diverse fields such as health care, transportation, education, hospitality, insurance/finance/banking, retail, sports, entertainment, and so forth, can aid sustainable development.
Possible topics include:
- Green services (conceptual and theoretical development on the topic)
- How do services go green? The development of “greenprinting.”
- Relating sustainability to the quality of consumer life (transformative service research)
- What are sustainable services? Do consumers value these services?
- Are service providers rewarded for implementing sustainable services?
- What managerial outcomes are associated with sustainability outcomes?
- Recover, Recycle, Reuse, Renew—How do the 4 R’s impact the Service Marketing Mix?
- Cultural perspectives towards sustainability. Do all consumers view green marketing in the same manner?
Authors are encouraged to contact Mark Rosenbaum, SERVSIG Programs Officer, via email mrosenbaum@niu.edu or phone 815-753-793 prior to the January 14, 2009 deadline if they plan to submit proposals or have any questions.
Other special session proposals will also be considered. However, authors should attempt to consider how their research is relevant to sustainability and to an overall, “green marketing” directive.
