We are looking to have a survey questionnaire distributed to a “representative consumer sample” via a consumer panel that will administer the survey and hopefully provide as output the dataset of responses. Apologies if this topic has already come up on ELMAR, but we searched and couldn’t find a prior discussion on this.
Any recommendations for reasonably priced consumer panels?
We can’t pay expensive commercial rates, but could pay up to $AUD5000. Our particular needs are for a sample of 300 to 400, for a 6 to 8 page questionnaire (still being finalised). An online panel is fine. (We think online panels are generally accepted as okay by now, as long as the desired sample is not biased against it, perhaps such as a low income sample.)
It would be ideal if all we have to do is supply the questionnaire, and we get back a dataset. However, if it would save significant amounts of money, we could do some of the technical work such as formatting of the questionnaire.
A combination of emailing list plus web survey software site (e.g., Zoomerang) is possible, as long as the email list provider sends the emails or provides the email addresses in a convenient form to be mail merged.
So tell us, are there reasonably priced quality panels out there, and about how much do they cost?
