CALL FOR PAPERS – Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management
“Fashion Marketing and Management in the Asia-Pacific Region”
Guest Editor:
Gail Taylor, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The influence of the globalization of apparel production has brought the Asia-Pacific region to prominence in recent decades. New sources of supply are increasingly matched by new markets, with consequences for managers of both sourcing and retailing. Each of the distinct territories has its own unique characteristics, with associated research expertise and knowledge of the markets. In addition the economies of the region are quick to follow the trends in fashion, and the consumer behaviour patterns of those in the American and Western European regions. This special issue therefore welcomes authors to demonstrate, through reference to research and practice, both the similarities and differences so that a greater understanding of both regional and global changes in the fashion business may be attained.
It is our intention to devote issue 13.4 (2009) to papers dealing with any aspect of fashion marketing and management in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on the patterns which distinguish the markets from mature, or traditional, markets elsewhere.
Expressions of interest should be sent by e-mail to the Guest Editor (tctaylor@inet.polyu.edu.hk), with a brief outline of content and an indication of the research methodology to be employed, by 28 February 2009.
Final papers will be required by 30 April 2009 and should be made via the JFMM online submission system: .
All manuscripts should be prepared according to the author guidelines located at: . All papers will be double blind reviewed following the journal’s normal review procedure.
