Applications are invited for one full-time Lecturer with expertise in ‘Market Research and Market Analysis’. The position is in the Department of Marketing, School of Business and is a confirmation path appointment.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses in Market Research at the third and fourth year level. These courses require the ability to communicate advanced level knowledge about a range of qualitative and quantitative methods, especially the use of multivariate methods in marketing. They also require focus on the application of market research methods to marketing problems hence some level of practical experience in marketing would also be desirable.
Experience in successful graduate supervision would be welcomed as well as direct qualifications in Marketing to PhD level. We are prepared to consider applications from wellqualified candidates in other areas – for example, a PhD in Statistics or Psychology with appropriate experience and track record in Marketing.
The Department of Marketing is one of the pre-eminent University Marketing Departments in the Southern Hemisphere, with twenty-four full-time academic staff from New Zealand and overseas bringing with them extensive academic and professional experience and providing local and international perspectives to our courses. The Department also has a strong PhD programme with over thirty current enrolments. Because of the depth and quality of our staff, we are able to offer the most extensive marketing education programme in New Zealand. The Department is also one of the largest departments within the University of Otago.
