You are invited to participate in The 2009 Summer Global Conference on Business and Finance (GCBF) – San Jose, Costa Rica. The Conference, sponsored by The Institute for Business and Finance Research, LLC (IBFR), will be held from May 27-30, 2009 at Ramada Plaza Herradura Hotel and Convention Center, San Jose.

Theoretical, empirical and applied papers in all areas of marketing and related fields are welcome. Papers do not need to be global in nature. Both English and Spanish language sessions will be offered. An internet session will be offered for those unable to make the trip to San Jose, Costa Rica.
PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES
The Conference is affiliated with four peer-reviewed journals: The International Journal of Business and Finance Research (IJBFR), International Journal of Management and Marketing Research (IJMMR), Global Journal of Business Research (GJBR) and Revista Internacional Administración & Finanzas (RIAF). All our journals are included in EBSCOHost. Our English Journals are listed in the 11th edition of Cabell’s directory and Ulrich’s Periodical Directory. The IJBFR and GJBR are also indexed in The American Economic Association’s Econlit, e-JEL and JEL on CD. Spanish language papers are published in Revista RIAF. Papers awarded the Outstanding Research Award at the conference will be offered publication in one of our Journals.
REFEREED CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
Registered conference attendees can publish without charge in the conference proceedings, published under the Title "Global Conference on Business and Finance Proceedings," ISSN 1931-0285, CD and online formats.
SUBMISSIONS
Submit a 200-word abstract or completed paper by e-mail to: submissions@theIBFR.com prior to March 20, 2009. All submissions must be in MS Word or Acrobat PDF format. Include the contact information for all authors.
CONFERENCE FEES
Regular conference registration is US$320 for the first paper and US$80 for each additional paper. Student registration fee is $295 for the first paper and US$80 for each additional paper. The registration fee for individuals not presenting a paper is $320. A US$50 late fee applies for registration fees paid after the deadline.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
We have arranged for a block of rooms at Ramada Plaza Herradura Golf Resort & Conference Center at a special rate of $110 (single or double) per night plus taxes. This rate includes breakfast. The special rate of $110 is available until April 24, 2009, or until the available block of rooms is reserved, whichever occurs first. For detailed hotel and reservation information please visit at
CONFERENCE CANCELLATIONS
The Institute reserves the right to cancel the conference in the event of a natural disaster, terrorist event illness or other unusual circumstances as determined solely at the discretion of The Institute for Business and Finance Research, LLC. In such instances, the Institute will be responsible only for returning the attendee’s conference registration fee.
