Assistant Professor of Marketing or Executive in Residence (Temporary)
Kogod School of Business, American University

The Department of Marketing at the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington D.C. invites applications and nominations for a renewable appointment to a faculty position beginning January 2009. The term of the appointment could range from one semester to 18 months. A January 2009 start date with a longer term commitment is preferred, but a one semester appointment will be considered.

Qualifications include:

  • For Assistant Professor position, Ph.D. in Marketing or anticipated completion by August 2009.
  • For Executive in Residence Position: A graduate degree in a relevant field with substantial business and/or nonprofit organization experience in marketing which qualifies the individual to teach a variety of marketing courses.
  • Primary teaching responsibilities for courses on marketing management, principles of marketing, and brand management; secondary focus on promotion and advertising. Prior teaching experience in one or more of the above-mentioned courses preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach marketing at an outstanding level to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Responsibilities include: -Teaching undergraduate and MBA students; and service to the department, school, and university. Supervising MBA consulting projects
