Special Australasian issue of the International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing

The philanthropy view from Downunder: Tales of adaptation, innovation and learning

The International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing is pleased to announce a special issue on philanthropy and fundraising in Australia and New Zealand. Papers are invited on aspects of these two topics that highlight what is unique, innovative and/or challenging in giving and fundraising in these two countries. Individual and private foundation giving are the focus of this special issue (not business or corporate foundation sources). A key theme of the issue is how these countries have adapted, created and been confronted by international concepts and practices. How have these countries thought globally and acted locally? What insights and contributions to theory and practice does Australasia proffer to other scholars and practitioners working toward continual improvement and greater understanding?

Both academic and practitioner papers are welcome and potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Donor decision-making
  • Private foundation behaviour
  • Social entrepreneurship
  • Single cause area fundraising (eg. Arts, welfare)
  • Fundraising vehicles
  • Nonprofit branding and positioning
  • Impact of public policy
