Tenure-track assistant professor position in Marketing

The Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for an entry-level assistant professor position in Marketing (tenure-track) beginning Fall 2009. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in research methodology with evidence or high promise of future research productivity in top journals within the marketing discipline. Our recruiting process will place special emphasis on the methodological rigor and analytical/quantitative expertise of the candidates. The applicant should be a Ph.D. or ABD from a reputed school, and is expected to have strong teaching skills. Any substantive area of research expertise within the marketing discipline is welcome.

The Stuart School is located in the heart of the beautiful Chicago Financial and Theater District. It is a research-oriented school with strong graduate programs in business administration, finance and environmental management, and has nearly 40 full-time faculty members. Its distinctive strengths include a strong emphasis on quantitative methodology and on the emerging field of strategic competitiveness. The school offers the following set of graduate programs: a MBA program, Masters in Marketing Communication, Masters in Environmental Management, MS in Finance, Masters in Mathematical Finance, and a Ph.,D in Management Science with concentrations in Management and Finance. We also have a small, but growing, undergraduate program in business. Our MBA program has been ranked globally among the top 50 programs in the world by the Aspen Institute.

The school expects to continue its strong growth phase. We hired four new junior faculty members last year (including three in Finance with Ph.Ds from Carnegie Mellon, Wharton, and RPI; one junior position in Management Science with a Ph.D from MIT). Next year, we hope to recruit six new faculty members, including this junior position in Marketing.
