Faculty positions open at all levels in marketing at BI Norwegian School of Management
The Marketing Department at BI Norwegian School of Management is currently inviting applications for two new faculty positions. Positions are open at Full Professor or Senior Associate Professor and Associate Professor levels. The latter is a junior level position in the Norwegian academic system, with permanent employment. Candidates who are about to finish or have recently defended their dissertation are invited to apply.
Applicants for the Full Professorship/Senior Associate Professorship should be able to demonstrate evidence or research excellence (i.e., publications in top-tier marketing journals or journals in related fields) and good teaching skills. Candidates for the Associate Professorship should, as a minimum, be able to demonstrate outstanding research potential. All candidates will be expected to add substantially to the research profile of the department and the school through their own activities as well as their ability to foster the development of research amongst junior colleagues.
For the Full Professorship/Senior Associate Professorship preference will be given to candidates who work in the area of consumer behavior. For the Associate Professorship, preference will be given to candidates who work in the research areas of innovation and marketing strategy.
The Norwegian School of Management offers competitive salary and benefits and good research support. The typical teaching load is 3 courses per year. Classes are taught in English.

The Marketing Department at BI Norwegian School of Management has 15 full time research faculty and 15 lecturers. In 2007 the Department won three prestigious awards – the MSI/H. Paul Root Award, the IMR International Marketing Award and the Louis W. Stern Award – for its research. The department was recently ranked number eight in Europe based on the number of publications in the Journal of Marketing from 2000 to 2007 (ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Doctoral Special Interest Group). The research and teaching interests of the department cover all aspects of marketing. The Center for Advanced Research in Retailing is a part of the department. The department has an active Ph.D. program.
