General Information: The professional sales program is a strategic priority for the Vancouver campus; and a professional sales emphasis is the only way to earn a marketing degree. WSU-Vancouver’s professional sales program was started three years ago and currently has about 30 majors. Since its inception, the program has participated in the National Collegiate Sales Competition, winning first place in 2007. Our ultimate goal is to create a Professional Sales Center, join the University Sales Center Alliance, and ultimately establish WSU Vancouver as one of the preeminent professional sales programs. WSU Vancouver is located on a beautiful 351-acre campus across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. The campus currently has ~2600 students and ~120 full-time faculty (Business Programs has 13 faculty and ~400 students), but is expected to increase significantly in the next 5-10 years. The new hire resides in Vancouver but is a fully participating member of the Department of Marketing, based in Pullman. This participation includes the option to work with Ph.D. students and teach in the executive MBA program; and serve on system-wide dissertation and thesis committees. The Department of Marketing values quality research and excellent teaching and consists of 13 faculty positions (includes 3 faculty in Vancouver). See the University’s (www.wsu.edu), College’s (www.business.wsu.edu), or WSU Vancouver Business Programs () websites for more information.
