Your expertise is in Marketing.
Your passion is in teaching and research.

Ryerson University is known for innovative programs built on the integration of theoretical and practically oriented learning. More than 95 undergraduate and graduate programs are distinguished by a professionally focused curriculum and strong emphasis on excellence in teaching, research and creative activities. Ryerson is also a leader in adult learning, with the largest university-based continuing education school in Canada.

The Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University is the largest undergraduate business school in Canada with 7500 students. Our MBA program is beginning its third year, and in 2007-2008 our students won or placed in every major national and international competition. As a result of a $15-million donation to the School to support students and research, we invite applications for tenure-stream faculty positions in the Department of Marketing, commencing July 1, 2009 or as otherwise mutually agreed upon. This role will see you providing high-quality, technologically-enabled instruction in our new, state-of-the-art building, as well as pursuing an active research program, which includes applying for external funding. You must have a demonstrated record of academic or business research (with a record of peer reviewed journal publications and/or conference presentations), evidence of teaching excellence (preferably at both the undergraduate and graduate levels), and a capacity for collegial service. Our new curriculum focuses on the intersection of marketing theory, quantitative skills and information technology and thus, we are seeking candidates with expertise in marketing metrics and the social web to teach introductory marketing and/or marketing metrics and case analysis courses. A PhD in Marketing or a closely related business field is required. Ideally, you will also bring related business or industry experience to support our focus on relevant curriculum and education. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of research and teaching interests, a copy of a sample publication and a sample of teaching evaluations, by July 15, 2009 either by regular mail to Dr. Mary Foster, Chair, Marketing, Ted Rogers School of Management, 350 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5B 2K3 or via e-mail to mf@ryerson.ca (one method only, not both).

Ryerson University has an employment equity program and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities and women. Members of designated groups are encouraged to self-identify. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
