Position 1
The Department of Marketing at Iowa State University seeks to add a new member to its faculty beginning in Fall 2009. Rank is open and salary will be competitive.
The position is open to persons holding a doctorate in marketing or related field with research and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas – sales and sales management, consumer behavior, and/or strategy. ABDs will be considered but all requirements for the degree must be completed by appointment date.
The selected candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses offered by the department. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to or the potential to make significant research contributions to marketing discipline and to develop research with PhD students.
Iowa State University is the Land Grant University in the State of Iowa and is a Division 1 research institution with an enrollment of approximately 26,000 students. The library and computer facilities are world-class. The physical layout of the campus has received national recognition. The College of Business is located in a state-of-the-art facility which features technological tools than can be used for instruction and research purposes. The College is AACSB accredited at the Bachelors and MBA levels. The College will offer a PhD program beginning in the Fall of 2009 and will initially emphasize areas of customer management, information systems and supply chain management.
Ames, Iowa and Iowa State University have a lot to offer. Ames is a relatively small city of approximately 50,000 plus people. It is located 30 miles from Des Moines, the state’s capital and largest city. Getting to and from campus is a very short trip from any place in Ames either by car or bus. Furthermore, Ames has many of the amenities that make the community attractive. There are many performing artist venues and there are multiple recreational activities. For those with families, the public schools are excellent.

The Department of Marketing at Iowa State University seeks to add a new member with an established record of excellence in research to its faculty beginning in Fall 2009. Rank is at the Associate Professor or Professor level with a Professorship/Fellowship designation.
The selected candidate will teach a methods course as well as other specialized PhD seminars and is expected to develop research with PhD students. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated her/his ability to make significant research contributions to the marketing discipline. S/he is also expected to teach in the college’s undergraduate and MBA programs.
