The Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management to be held in Ocho Rios, Jamaica is pleased to invite papers for presentation at the conference October 8 – 10, 2008. The conference will serve as a forum for the sharing of trends that are recent, relevant and global in scope that enable national and international development.

ACADEMIC PRESENTATIONS: Papers may be drawn from diverse fields and can be either applied or conceptual in orientation on the following topics:

INDUSTRY WORKSHOP: Practitioners seeking to share best practices and insights can present at the Special Industry Workshop. Topics and issues should be relevant with the theme of the conference.

TIMETABLE

Authors wishing to present papers at this conference must submit a 3-4 page abstract (in English) including name(s) of author(s), affiliation, postal and e-mail address. The abstract must cover the background, a brief literature review, the proposed method and implications of the study. Abstracts must be typed using Times Roman 12-point font double-spaced with justified alignment, and should (preferably) be submitted (as MSWord file) electronically to: beldona@udel.edu.   1. The timetable for the academic submissions are as follows:

    Abstract submission: March 1, 2008
    Feedback to authors: March 30, 2008
    Full paper submission: August 1, 2008

  2. Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to submit full papers by the August 1 deadline. Once the abstract is accepted, the author(s) must register by May 16th, 2008 and present the paper at the conference.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa is in Ocho Rios, approximately 70 miles from Montego Bay and about the same distance from the capital city of Kingston. Ocho Rios boasts a number of unique attractions including the 600 feet Dunn’s River Falls tumbling down into the blue tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea, Fern Gully stocked with over 500 varieties of Jamaican ferns, The Ruins Restaurant set beside a 40 foot waterfall amidst lush tropical gardens, white sand beaches and nightly entertainment. The Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa occupies 17 acres of a peninsula and is within walking distance to shopping and dining and within minutes of major local attractions. This all-inclusive resort provides added amenities such as its own beach, lagoon style pool, recreational (including water sports) activities, disco and all meals and beverages.
