INVITATION

The implementation of new technologies, the Renaissance of democratic capitalism and liberalization of global markets have changed the business nature and environment. New technologies shrunk of space and time, and expanded the geographical distance of contract parties. Frequent changes of business terms predetermine identification of regular analysis and trends. This conference services the platform providing conditions for researchers and professionals involved in the issues of international business development to discuss scientific problems and benefit from the innovations.

We kindly invite you to participate in the international conference "International Business Development: Globalization, Opportunities, Challenges" which will be held on May 15-16, 2008 in Vilnius , organized by International Business School at Vilnius University and Lithuanian economist association.

Conference topics:

  4. International accounting and finance.
  5. International business strategies.
  6. International human resources management.

The conference material will be published:

• All articles, confirmed by the reviewer, will be published in the conference proceedings and authors can prepare and more comprehensive articles, which after a double – blind review will be published in the special issue of International Journal of Scholarly Papers "Transformations in Business and Economics" (TIBE) (ISI Web of Science, Social Sciences Citation Index, IBSS) dedicated to the conference. The articles are planed to be published from December 2008 to June 2009.

Conference proceedings requirements:

The volume of articles is supposed not to exceed 6-10 pages of size A4. The body of the text should be typed in Times New Roman print, 12 pt with 1,5 line spacing. The footnotes are expected to be numbered in consecutive order in Arabic numbers. The headings of the chapters should be succinct, clear and numbered, with the exception of introduction and conclusion. The authors of the articles are supposed to present the results of their empirical investigations in tables and figures. All the graphic material has to be presented in Time New Roman, 10 pt, numbered in consecutive order in Arabic numbers and inserted in the appropriate place of the article. All tables and figures should be specifically entitled. It is obligatory for each table and figure to have a full description of bibliographical references (original or adapted), or be indication that it was originally compiled by the author of the article.

The official language of the conference is English.

Registration fee: €50 (170 LT), if paid before March 15, 2008

€75 (260 LT), if paid after March 15, 2008

The price includes: coffee breaks, dinner, supper, transport services from hotels "Šarunas" and "Europa City" to the conference venue, conference material.

Important dates:

Conference articles should be sent before January 15, 2008 by e-mail conference@tvm.vu.lt together with a form of registration.

At your request to publish the articles in the "Transformations in Business and Economics" the final article should be sent before April 15 , 2008 , edited following the requirements of the periodical, by e-mail conference@tvm.vu.lt
