CALL FOR PAPERS: CONSUMER BEHAVIOR AND SPORTS MARKETING

CBSIG and Sports/Event SIG invite submissions to be included in a proposed session "Consumer Behavior and Sports Marketing" for Summer ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (in San Diego, CA. August, 2008). Last ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø conference, the CBSIG/DocSIG was selected by the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø as a "high-impact session", so this may be a good opportunity to present working research on the topic. Topics include, but are not limited to: event marketing in a sports context, sports sponsorship, affect, emotion, or cognitions at sports events or games, memory/recall of sports events and image transfer, sports consumption, fan behavior ( e.g., tailgating), sports as a leisure activity, or effectiveness of sports marketing from a consumer perspective. Dr. George Zinkhan will serve as discussant of this proposed session.

To be considered, please send an abstract (300 words) by Jan. 1, 2008 to Dr. Lynn Kahle (lkahle@lcbmail.uoregon.edu) or Dr. Angeline Close (angeline.close@unlv.edu). Selected papers will be considered based on: the fit with the proposed session, synergy with the other papers in the session, level of completeness of the research, and potential interest to both SIG’s membership base. To be considered, an author must agree to present at Summer 2008 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø (with a choice to publish an extended abstract).

Please see for more information about ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s Consumer Behavior SIG.

Thank you,

Officers of CBSIG and Sports/Event SIG
