Two Tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty positions in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management

The Isenberg School of Management (ISOM) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking applicants for two (2), 9-month tenure track, Assistant Professor faculty positions in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) beginning Fall, 2008. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be competitive.

Position Descriptions. The two positions will vary slightly in content areas, but we are open to unique combinations of expertise. In one faculty position, an emphasis in tourism and event management is preferred as the primary research area; but, all other related areas will be considered. In the second faculty position an emphasis in hospitality marketing and conference sales as the primary research area is preferred while all other related areas will be considered.

University or college teaching experience is required and industry or professional experiences are desired. Ability to work effectively with students, co-workers, faculty and administrative personnel and evidence of involvement in departmental matters through a team concept should be demonstrated.

All candidates should have a doctoral degree and a strong commitment to scholarly research and excellence in teaching. The department has a continuing commitment to enhance the diversity of its faculty, student body and curriculum.
