The Department of Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism at Innsbruck University School of Management invites applications for the newly created Swarovski Crystal Chair in Multi-Cultural Brand Research, effective winter 2008.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the Major “Multicultural Branding” of the “Strategic Management” master program and also play an important role in the doctoral program of the School of Management. Close cooperation with other members of the department, the school, and the sponsor of the chair is expected.
The candidate will exhibit a willingness to conduct research in the area of multi-cultural branding, e.g. the development of brands as socio-cultural phenomena in multi-cultural environments. With high sensitivity for diverse approaches, the ideal person cross-fertilizes managerial aspects with perspectives from related areas such as architecture, design, journalism, natural sciences, psychology, or theology.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or doctorate, and hold a „habilitation“ or a comparable qualification such as a senior lecturer, assistant professor, or associate professor position. A strong record of research productivity, pronounced communication and teaching skills, and leadership qualifications are requested.
The position will initially be limited to 5 years. Given a positive evaluation the contract will turn unlimited. Salary and benefits are competitive with the standards of European universities. The chair includes funding for two post-doctoral positions, a secretary and traveling for academic purposes. The search will close on November 30, 2007. Innsbruck University School of Management is committed to international standards in teaching and research. As of winter 2007, the school offers a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management and Master programs in Strategic Management and Organization Studies. In 2008, masters in Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, Banking and Finance, and Information Systems will initiate. All programs are held in English language.
