Introduction

Associate Dean

Central Connecticut State University (“CCSU”), a regional, comprehensive public university comprising four schools – Arts & Sciences, Business, Education & Professional Studies, and Technology-offers undergraduate and graduate programs through the Master’s and sixth-year levels, and the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.  In 2004, Princeton Review listed CCSU as one of The Best Northeastern Colleges. CCSU is located close to city of Hartford and about two hours from New York City and Boston.

Business

, which is comprised of five academic departments (Accounting, Finance, MIS, Marketing, and Management & Organization) seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as Associate Dean.  Responsibilities of the position include a full-range of activities including emphasis on recruitment, retention, scheduling, registration and student advising; AACSB accreditation; and resource allocation and budgetary support.  An important dimension of the position is assisting and/or representing the Dean in activities involving various internal and external constituencies.
 

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree and five years experience in academic administration (e.g., department chair, program head, or director).

   

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in a discipline represented in the school; college teaching experience at the rank of associate professor or higher; previous experience with developing sources of external funding, including successful grant writing, alumni outreach, and partnerships; previous experience with AACSB accreditation; and excellent oral and written communications.
  
Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.
