2007 SCP Dissertation Proposal Competition Winners

SCP is proud to announce the winners of its annual Dissertation Proposal Competition.

This year’s competition was very competitive. The papers were evaluated by multiple reviewers through 2 rounds of review, and all submissions received valuable reviewer feedback and comments. The winner will receive $1000, and the two runners up will be awarded $500 each. All three winning papers will be presented at the 2008 winter SCP conference.

Winner of the 2007 Competition:

Miranda R. Goode, from the University of British Columbia, with a proposal entitled, “The Effect of Experiential Analogies on Consumer Perceptions & Attitudes” (Dissertation Chair: Darren W. Dahl).

Runners-Up:

Amy Dalton, from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, with a proposal entitled, “Repairing and Protecting Self-worth in the Material World” (Dissertation Co-Chairs: Jim Bettman and Tanya Chartrand).

Jing Wang, from the Yale School of Management, with a proposal entitled, “Predictions of Adaptation to Products Over Time” (Dissertation Chair: Nathan Novemsky).

We also wish to recognize the hard work and dedication of the many SCP members who offered to review. SCP is lucky to have such a dedicated and committed group of members.

See you at the SCP Conference in 2008.
