Position: The University of Tampa, Assistant Professor, Marketing, Tenure Track, beginning Fall 2008

The John H. Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa has a tenure-track position in Marketing available beginning August 2008 at the Assistant Professor level.

A completed Ph.D. (no ABDs will be interviewed) in Marketing and 3 to 5 years of professional work experience is required.

The Marketing Department seeks applicants who have the ability to teach both graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of course areas. The University of Tampa Marketing Department is a collegial department that focuses on teaching, student career development, and cooperative faculty research. Candidates must exhibit a strong commitment to teaching excellence and have a proven research record. Typical teaching load is12 credit hours per semester with two preps. Research and service expectations are consistent with the teaching load.

The College emphasizes technology applications (Blackboard web-based courses), interactions with the business community, and a real-world orientation in its programs. The Centers for Ethics, Leadership, and our affiliation with the Institute for Work Commerce Education complement this approach. The College is AACSB accredited.

The University of Tampa is a private, independent; liberal arts based institution with approximately 5300 students. Sykes College of Business has more than 1400 undergraduate business majors, a quality MBA program with about 500 students, and a growing MS Marketing program.
