Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Community and Family Health
With Specialization in Social Marketing

The USF College of Public Health was founded in 1986. The COPH consists of five departments and numerous federally funded research centers. The Department of Community and Family Health offers fully-accredited degree programs leading to the MPH, MSPH, and PhD degree. Major academic concentration areas in the department include public health education, maternal and child health, behavioral health and socio-health sciences. Position: Tenure-earning Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Community and Family Health, 12-month appointment.
Minimum qualifications:
- A doctoral degree, to be earned prior to hiring date in public health, marketing, communications, social/behavioral sciences, or a closely related field.
- Evidence of teaching or training commensurate with rank sought.
- Evidence of research dissemination commensurate with rank sought.
- Potential for graduate level teaching and research.
- A minimum of five years of academic experience as an Assistant Professor and/or Associate Professor is required to be considered for an appointment as an Associate Professor. For consideration for appointment at the rank of Professor, candidate must have a minimum of five years experience as an Associate Professor and/or Professor, and demonstrate national reputation in one of more areas of scholarly expertise from a broad array of community and or family issues across the lifespan.

- Evidence of achievement and a defined plan for research related to social marketing and public health.
- Evidence of achievement and a philosophy for graduate level teaching and mentoring
- Evidence of and a defined plan for contributing for the success of our college through service activities.
- Unique qualities that offer the Department an opportunity to expand its vision or mission, or augment an existing strength.
Responsibilities:
Develop a successful research agenda that includes peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding; teach doctoral and masters’ level courses in the department; serve as an advisor to MPH, MSPH, and PhD students; serve on doctoral dissertation committees; and provide leadership in professional and community service activities, including social marketing conference and field school.
