Three Tenure-Track Positions Available
The Department of Marketing and Logistics at the University of New Orleans (a member of the Louisiana State University System) seeks to fill three tenure-track positions for the 2008-2009 academic year. All three positions are at the assistant or associate professor level. Filling each position is contingent on final approval of funding. The department seeks the best candidates with teaching and research interests in any field of marketing for two of the three positions. For the third position the department seeks a candidate with special qualifications in logistics and/or sales management.
The College of Business at UNO desires faculty members who are excellent teachers and researchers productive of quality work and provides a balanced merit and promotion mechanism to support these efforts.
UNO is a state-supported university of approximately 13,000 students. More than one third of these students are enrolled in the College of Business. The department consists of 9 authorized full-time tenure-track positions and some 300 undergraduate majors. In addition, the department serves the College’s over-500-student MBA program, an MBA Concentration in Marketing, and three executive programs in Business. UNO’s College of Business is fully AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
UNO’s Lakefront Campus is located on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain at the northern edge of the City of New Orleans. The spacious, tree-studded campus is located in one of the finest residential neighborhoods of the city and is just minutes from the French Quarter. Though best known for its Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, Cuisine, and the French Quarter, New Orleans is also a cosmopolitan location that offers the amenities of a large city with a friendly, unhurried personality.
All candidates must have completed their doctoral degree at an accredited university at time of hiring. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. UNO is an equal opportunity employer. International applicants are encouraged. Please contact Dr. Thomas S. O’Connor, Chair of the Department, if you wish to explore this opportunity.
