Introduction
Three tenure-track positions
The Department of Management and Marketing at The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for three tenure-track positions in marketing (pending final budget approval) beginning in August 2008. All ranks will be considered. Candidates must have earned doctorates in marketing at the time of appointment (ABDs may be considered) and should demonstrate strong evidence or promise of scholarly research and effective teaching. Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: marketing strategy, consumer behavior, and/or marketing communications. Candidates interested in a balance among teaching, research and service are encouraged to apply. The University of Southern Mississippi is a Carnegie doctoral/research-extensive and four-year Class 1 Southern Regional Education Board institution with an enrollment of approximately 15,000. The College of Business has a student enrollment of about 2,000 and a full-time faculty of 65; it is AACSB accredited at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. The Hattiesburg Metropolitan Statistical Area is the southern Mississippi regional center for educational, medical, and retail services. Additionally, the regional campuses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast have over 1,500 students, of whom 450 are in business disciplines. The Gulf Coast is a major tourism center and a hub of economic activity with a population of over 500,000. Applicants should send a vita and letter of application to Tony L.
