ABOUT ESSEC BUSINESS SCHOOL...

ESSEC is one of the two best Business Schools in France. Certain striking features set ESSEC apart. The first of these is a curriculum in which academic training and professional experience are integrated, resulting in a rich and demanding educational path and an original model of graduate education in management. A second striking feature is the humanist tradition and perspective that translates into the curriculum through the integration of human and social issues. Thirdly, ESSEC has been known throughout its history for being a highly innovative institution of higher education in France.

Over the past thirty years, ESSEC has been the first Business School in France:

  • To accept women as students
  • To develop an Office of Corporate/Student Relations
  • To create a doctoral program, in 1974
  • To be accredited by the AACSB, in 1997 (in fact, the first ever business school accredited by the AACSB outside the North American territory)
  • To opt, in 2003, for a close alliance with a major European partner – Mannheim University
  • To establish a strong presence in Asia, with our Singapoure campus.

Among all comparable institutions in France, ESSEC is one of the very few with a private status, being a non-profit organization. This gives ESSEC a singular freedom to innovate. Private companies are highly supportive and contribute every year to roughly one third of our budget.
