Assistant Professor of Marketing
Applications are sought for at least one tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Marketing Area of the
College
of
Business Administration
at the
University
of
Rhode Island
beginning Fall 2008. A second position is subject to final budget approval.
Candidates for both positions must have earned a Ph.D. by Fall 2008. Both graduating Ph.D. candidates and Assistant Professors of Marketing will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Quantitative Research Methods at the Ph.D. level, and/or Brand Management, Marketing Communications, Product Management or Logistics at the Ph.D., M.B.A., and undergraduate levels. Faculty are expected to publish regularly in leading marketing journals, teach effectively at the all levels, and commit to service activities at the College and University levels. Promotion and tenure standards, and workload policies, for the College are located on its website (). Salaries are AACSB competitive. Starting packages generally include a reduced teaching load, summer support, and an allowance for moving expenses.

has 50 faculty in six areas, including seven faculty in the Marketing Area. The College’s research centers include RITIM, focusing on technology and telecommunications, and PACAP, focusing on Asian Capital Market. Recently, the College has expanded its global connections in Germany, China, Korea, and India. The College also strengthened its focus and competency in Supply Chain Management. A new, state-of-the-art building houses the College, which includes a trading room/research lab and fully wired classrooms.
Marketing faculty have many recent and upcoming publications in leading journals. Faculty interests include consumer culture theory, e-marketing, branding, pricing, and macromarketing. The Marketing Area has 6 Ph.D. candidates, with 3 new candidates beginning in Fall 2008. Ph.D. students in Marketing have received many prestigious national dissertation awards, including MSI Clayton winner, ACR Sheth winner, MSI Honorable Mention, and

. Ph.D. graduates in Marketing have a solid placement record at AACSB-accredited institutions. The Marketing Area is highly collegial, with numerous co-authored papers among faculty, and between faculty and Ph.D. students.
