The Department of Marketing in the College of Business Administration at The University of Akron invites applications for two assistant or associate professors of marketing positions These tenure track positions will start in August 2007 (or 2008 if not filled in 2007). Qualified candidates will need to demonstrate teaching specialties in some of the following areas: Advertising, Marketing Strategy, Integrated Marketing Communications, Promotional Campaigns, Direct Interactive Marketing, Creative Marketing, Database Marketing, Marketing Management, Professional Selling, Sales Management, or Business Negotiation.

Requirements

A Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely allied area of study from a recognized and established university is required.

The successful candidate for an assistant professorship must be able to provide the search committee with evidence of (1) ability to publish in respected academic journals, (2) meaningful and successful classroom experiences, (3) relevant university, professional, and business involvements, and (4) a demonstrated commitment to student success.

The successful candidate for an associate professorship will be expected to demonstrate an established and continuing record of journal publications, classroom performances, professional involvements, and business experiences consistent with the desired academic rank.
