Deadline Extended for Proposals to Host 2008 ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium
The annual ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium is a premier event in our discipline. If your school would like to host and sponsor this event in 2008, please prepare and submit a proposal for receipt no later than October 15, 2006. Proposals should focus on the school’s ability to plan, deliver, and financially support a relevant and exceptional consortium experience for the participants.
The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, typically held in June, introduces Ph.D. students to state-of-the-art perspectives and emerging themes in our profession. Thought leaders in research and practice are invited to provide a stimulating experience for doctoral candidates as they prepare to launch their careers. Life-long professional relationships often develop through the consortium experience. The ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø and the Sheth Foundation provide a substantial seed grant and doctoral participants are charged a nominal fee. However, the host institution will need to secure sponsorship, commitment from its own university, and use a modest fee structure that permits it to meet its projected costs for lodging, meals and any assorted facility fees associated with meeting space for conducting the consortium. Other activities such as receptions, off-site events and other entertainment are at the discretion of the host institution but should be recognized as of minor consequence in the assessment of the event relative to the merits of the intellectual content of the consortium itself.
Please consider contributing to our discipline by sponsoring and hosting the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø/Sheth Doctoral Consortium. If you need more information, or would like to submit a proposal by the October 15, 2006 deadline, please contact me.
